Scholastic Challenge 2020 and Our Covid-19 Response
Like you, we've been monitoring the latest news about the coronavirus and how it is affecting our schools.
Local lockdowns in the spring prevented us from preparing awards packages. Most schools in the country were shut down for the rest of the school year and we were worried that teachers would not be able to receive our mailing. As a result, we decided to send awards packages and trophies the first week of September. (Please allow 2 - 4 weeks for postal delivery.) Even though some schools may not fully open to students, and provide virtual learning instead, we anticipate that school personnel, as well as teachers, will have access to their buildings and be able to receive our mailing in September.
We understand that it may be difficult to give awards to students that move on to high school, or to reach teachers that are moving to a teaching assignment in a new school. However, this pandemic has forced us to adapt, and we are asking teachers to try to pass on the awards to their students as much as possible.
Please notify us promptly with an alternate mailing address if your school is closed and will not be able to receive our packages, or if your school's convener has changed.
We thank you for your understanding.  Please stay safe and continue the great work you do for your students, your school, and your community.
The Canadian Scholastic Achievement League extends to you an invitation to enter your students in Scholastic Challenge 2021 taking place online in February and March, 2021. For the past twenty-five years, grade eight students have been provided with an entertaining and challenging enrichment activity that allows them to demonstrate a variety of problem solving skills and knowledge in many academic areas. Ten years ago, we added a second division that is designed to academically challenge students in grade six.

Your students will enjoy competing in our online competition with other grade eight or grade six students from all regions of Canada. They will be able to compete as individuals and also as members of your school's team in a unique, interesting, and educational program.

Trophies, plaques, medals and certificates will be awarded for achievement in individual and school team categories in both the grade six and grade eight divisions.

To register your grade six or grade eight students, or both, please select the grade appropriate
Teacher Registration link from our navigation above, and complete and submit by December 15, 2020.

It is our hope that Scholastic Challenge 2021 will stimulate your students' quest for knowledge, and provide them with the joy and satisfaction of meeting new academic challenges.
We look forward to your participation.
